The original Music To Pray By album was recorded in 2002 for the sole purpose of inspiring men and women of God to pray. Over 1,000 copies were given away all over the world. The music is used in many churches during regular service and during prayer. It is now available to download for free. The purpose of this blog is the same as the original album, but there are some differences. The CD was recorded via MIDI and was “cleaned up” rhythmically and musically. The new audio for this blog is recorded raw using a Yamaha C2 acoustic grand piano in the dining room and a Roland R-09HR portable audio recorder so there will be some background noises and mistakes, but they will be kept to a minimum so that there is no distractions during prayer.
Ron Johns has been playing the piano since 7 years of age. During the latter part of high school and a few years following, serving God became unimportant. On May 19, 1997, that all changed at a Promise Keepers seminar when he recommitted his life to Christ, and Ron has been serving the LORD ever since. Ron is currently serving at The Connection Church in Kyle, TX. He also is a member of the band Soundwave, and has played with various bands in the Austin area including Rachel Keagy, and the Brady Muckelroy Quartet. These groups also perform in San Antonio, Dallas, Round Rock, Lockhart, San Marcos, Dripping Springs, and a number of other cities in the central Texas area.
